FAQS
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION & ELIGIBILITY
Since 1990, Community Futures Grenville has been contributing to community vitality through funding, education, advocacy and expertise. In celebration of 35 years of this work, the Futures Grant provides non-repayable funding to support legacy projects that will enhance our community in the decades to come.
The grant can cover up to 100% of project costs. While there is no project maximum, it is recommended that projects are scoped in the range of $5,000 - $10,000. The budget for the whole program is $20,000, and projects will be selected by a competitive process based on their value, assessed as a balance of CF Grenville’s requested investment, additional contributions and the project’s ability to deliver on program outcomes. Although matching funds are not required, projects that are able to access additional funds to leverage CF Grenville’s investment will be assessed favourably.
The deadline to apply is June 2, 2025 at 4:00pm.
The selection process involves mandatory eligibility and project evaluation criteria, and supplementary documentation may be requested as needed.
Eligible Projects
The grant supports projects that create a lasting impact and contribute to long-term sustainability, inclusivity, and/or prosperity. Projects must have a long-term impact in the years to come and a plan to sustain that impact. Examples include but are not limited to:
- Investments that enable arts and culture activities;
- Restoration, protection or enhancement of natural resources;
- Community art, education, or heritage installations;
- Projects that increase community engagement and vitality;
- Initiatives that reduce carbon emissions or make it easier for others to do so.
Applicants are encouraged to keep the legacy aims of the program in mind. For example, funds could be used to purchase a stage or equipment to allow for community performances for years to come, but support for a single event would not be eligible. For projects like that, please see the Community Futures Grenville Initiative. The same applicant is eligible to receive funding for both programs in the same fiscal year.
Ineligible Projects
- Projects that benefit a single business;
- Projects for the purpose of attaining compliance with existing legislation;
- Projects that do not create a lasting impact;
- Projects with a primary impact outside of Grenville County.
*Grenville County is defined as comprising the Municipality of North Grenville, the Town of Prescott, and the Townships of Augusta and Edwardsburgh Cardinal.
Approved CF Grenville contributions will be released following successful completion of the project, submission of the final claim and final report, with invoices and proof of payment as appropriate.
Funding is limited, not all eligible projects will be approved.
