St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival in Prescott Receives Eastern Ontario Development Program Support

July 18th, 2015 - Prescott, ON - The St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival will benefit from an investment announced today by the Grenville Community Futures Development Corporation (GCFDC) and Gord Brown, Member of Parliament for Leeds-Grenville. 

The GCFDC is pleased to provide support for the St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival with an investment of $80,797 over three years under the Eastern Ontario Development Program’s (EODP) Community Innovation stream. The EODP Community Innovation stream advances community-led economic development to enhance and diversify local economies.

The investment will support the modernization and expansion of a major local tourist attraction which will support the revitalization the local downtown core. Funding will be provided to enhance the capacity of the organization, modernize virtual box office functions, and expand marketing reach and impact. The three-year plan seeks to leverage the national and international impact of the 2014 Globe to Globe Tour performance hosted by the Festival.
